For Cooking Society, food is very important and we love everything that has to do with cooking. Our board has a passion for cooking (or baking), and for some of us it is also our favourite way to procrastinate. One of our board members actually loves looking up recipes and can easily spend two hours a day on this activity. Doing this and being able to claim it is for Cooking Society is great.
In all seriousness, Cooking Society is a fun society to be a part of, and it has been fun to organise all sorts of events. Still a favourite is the bonbon workshop in collaboration with Chocolate Lovers, which a lot of people joined this year. To name another event that was a great success, we were very pleased with the way the Masterchef event turned out, where people did not only show off their cooking skills, but also showed us they were very creative when it came to designing their own dishes. Eating and judging all the entries may have been some of our favourite moments. Being a society at UCR means you have a lot of options to collaborate with other societies, which is what we did too. We care about the environment so we’re working on a collab with SusCo, but also want to improve ties with the communities around us so we are also having events with PUMA and the AZC board.
